Joel Campbell Starts! How Arsenal Must Line-Up To Beat Sunderland

Things aren’t quite right at the moment at Arsenal headquarters and the personnel, and system needs a refresh.

The Gunners can’t risk dropping points in the Premier League again, and after a lethargic, poor midweek performance – Arsene Wenger must make changes or we risk falling further behind in a title race that we realistically aren’t actually in.

I would like us to line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with very attacking wingers – preparing for Theo Walcott’s return and giving us the ability to breakdown opponents easier. Here’s the line up I would go with. You can create your own eleven here.

Goalkeeper: Woijech Szczesny

Suspended against Anderlecht, Szczesny comes back in for this game. He’s not been on his best form, but with Ospina out for the long term, we need Woijech to keep consistent between the sticks.

Defence: Hector Bellerin, Calum Chambers, Per Mertesacker, Kieran Gibbs

I think Wenger will opt to keep Monreal at centre back in order to keep a bit of stability in defence. Although I understand that decision, I would rather see Bellerin in the back four and then Chambers as a centre back.

Midfield: Mikel Arteta; Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey

Mathieu Flamini has been holding the midfield for several games now and I think it is time for Mikel Arteta to come back into the midfield. He is more disciplined but has similar faults on Flamini in that he is not strong or combative. With Flamini failing to anchor the Arsenal midfield, lets hope Arteta can come back better than ever.

Forwards: Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck, Joel Campbell

Arsenal’s best game of the season was when they attacked Galatasaray with a very quick front three. I think they should do this again. Such a quick front three will stretch the Sunderland defence and allow Ramsey and Cazorla more space to do what they do best at the heart of midfield. If Sunderland do attack, Arsenal have plenty of pace to punish them on the counter attack in this front three.
